The Leicester Literary and Philosophical Society, in their 175th Anniversary year, have pleasure in sponsoring a talk in support of the exhibition 'A Journey out of Darkness’. The speaker, Angela Smith, has a degree in Art History from the University of Leicester and a doctorate from the Warburg Institute, London University. Her talk will consider the character of German Expressionist art, its origins in the optimism of a generation who desired social change and its aesthetic appeal to collectors in the early 20th century. £3.00.
