Small Print:Big Impression is an international showcase of contemporary fine art printmaking, presenting artists from across the UK and as far afield as the US and New Zealand.
A new exhibition of fine art miniprints originated and presented by Leicester Print Workshop. Featuring work by over 100 artists working across the UK and beyond, with all prints on display for sale.
The exhibition presents a diverse range of printmaking techniques including etching, lithography, relief work as well as digital prints. The unique characteristic of the exhibition is the small scale of the prints with all works with no image size larger than 100 square cms.
The exhibition features over 100 artists and 150 works from an original 550 works submitted for the exhibition. The chosen works were selected by; Anne Desmet, Printmaker and Editor of Printmaking Today, Craig Ashley, Producer of Visual Arts at the mac, Birmingham and Irena Czapska, Printmaker and Manager at Spike Print Studio, Bristol.
Small Print:Big Impression presents printmaking in all its diverse glory and aims to introduce this genre of contemporary art to new audiences across the East & West Midlands regions.
After New Walk Museum & Art Gallery, the 2011 exhibition tours to 78 Derngate, Northampton; Rufford Craft Centre, North Nottinghamshire; gallerytop, Nr Matlock, Derbyshire and mac, Birmingham.
