Neither Here, Nor There

Rana Begum, Simon & Tom Bloor, Raimi Gbadamosi, April Gertler

Four artists, four billboards, four weeks

9 March - 5 April 2009 (Exhibition now closed)

‘Neither here, nor there’ is an exhibition of four commissioned artworks by national and international artists displayed on four billboards around the city of Leicester.

Rana Begum’s work draws from geometric patterns within contemporary architecture, Islamic Arts and the school of ‘abstract geometric’ painting.

Simon & Tom Bloor re-curate visual materials and text from culture, in this instance a quote from Joe Orton the famous Leicester playwright.

Raimi Gbadamosi uses the recurring motif of Black, White and Yellow to challenge entrenched perceptions in a specific social, cultural and political context.

April Gertler works in photography and collage, depicting and challenging what is thought of as the real image, in this case two owls in a Berlin natural history museum.

For images of the billboard artworks visit the Image Gallery.
