Handling Boxes


For Key Stage 1

Victorian Handling Box at Belgrave Hall

Different elements of Victorian domestic life and Victorian childhood are explored within this box. The box contains a variety of original and replica artefacts, description cards, prompts for discussion and suggested activities. There is a small charge for its use.


For Key Stage 2

Roman Handling Boxes at Jewry Wall Museum

A large number of handling boxes each containing a variety of Roman artefacts discovered around the city are also available for use within the Museum. There is a small charge for their use.

Victorian Handling Box at Belgrave Hall

Teachers can also book our Victorian handling box for a small charge. Different elements of Victorian domestic life and Victorian childhood are explored. The box contains a variety of original and replica artefacts, description cards, prompts for discussion and suggested activities.

Anglo-Saxon Loans Boxes to use within school

Five loans boxes on the topic of Anglo-Saxons are available for up to one term. Each box contains illustrations, artefacts with descriptions, a comprehensive teachers’ pack and either an authentic burial urn or brooch dating from the Saxon period.
