Why Volunteer?
Leicester City Council Parks Services work hard to build a rapport with the communities that surround our parks, gardens and green open spaces. We do this via a number of ways. For example: establishing User & Friends of Groups, delivering a variety of community focused events, educational visits, undertaking user surveys and providing volunteering opportunities / projects.
As a service we want to work closely with the communities we serve, to ensure all the people of Leicester's diverse communities have a sense of ownership over their public open spaces, become engages and involved in the overall management of their local parks and work together to make Leicester City's Parks, Gardens and Green-spaces Cleaner, Safer & Greener.
Benefits to Volunteering with Parks Services:
-
An opportunity to give something back to your community
-
Enable you to be directly involved in improving your community
-
Promote a sense of pride about the area you live in
-
Bring your community, neighbours closer through a shared goal or interest
Park Force Volunteers
The Park Force Volunteers will bring all current volunteering and future volunteering opportunities provided on Leicester City Council's Parks, Gardens and Green-spaces together under one roof.
The Park Force Volunteers will enable Leicester's diverse communities to better promote their volunteering opportunities, recruit volunteers to each event and create a brand that people will want to sign up to.
