Rushey Mead Bowling Club

Rushey Mead was founded in 1952 with separate mens and ladies sections and later in 1982 they joined forces to become a mixed bowling club.  The club has two greens situated on Melton Road and over the years the teams have flourished and gained honours in both parks and county association competitions.

The club has provided a Parks Association President in 1955 with Mr A Cooper and later in 1978 Mr J Challender was made County President.

The club continues to win honours in the Parks Association competitions and in the newly formed North East Leicester Triples League, where it completed the league and cup double in 2005.

Being a friendly mixed club, it welcomes anyone wanting to play bowls, both on a casual or membership basis with help and advice to those who wish it.

Matches are played on Thursday and Saturday afternoons with an opportunity to play league bowling on Tuesday evenings.
