Spinney Hill Park Bowls Club

Spinney Hill Park Bowls Club was founded in 1892 and is the second oldest club in Leicester.  Before that it belonged to the Ancient Order of Buffalos, which was formed by people in the shoe trade in Leicester.

The club has provided 3 presidents of the Leicester Bowling Association, founded in 1921.  The first being Mr E M Bowler, the second Mr W T Jinks in 1939 and more recently Mr N K Rochester in 2004.

The club became a founder member of the Leicester City & District Parks Bowling Association in 1948 and has been privileged to welcome several international players to play at the club.  The club is also proud to have won several county championships over the years.

A male only club until 1999, the club now welcomes lady members and in 2003 Mrs D E Rochester was elected the first lady President.  All matches are played with mixed teams enjoying a family atmosphere and culminating a weekend tour away each year.

For those wanting to learn how to play we have a qualified coach
