Watermead Climate Trail

The Watermead Climate Trail is an exciting development at Watermead Park (South) in Leicester.  It is a play trail based around the theme of Climate Change, with the aim of teaching youngsters and adults alike what climate change is and what can be done to fight against it, through innovative signage and interpretation combined with play equipment. The project was funded by Big Lottery, Leicester City Council and Lafarge Aggregates (through the Landfill Communities Fund).

The Trail is an innovative and relevant initiative aimed at combining stimulating sensory play with a cognitive element.  Exciting climbing equipment and scrambling trails dotted with environmental messages, lead to a central wooded arena where the challenges that face future generations are highlighted with stunning icons of climate change.
