Friends of Watermead logo

The Friends of Watermead are a voluntary group with a dedicated interest in Watermead Country Park (South).

The Friends work closely with the City Councils’ Parks Services department to promote and raise awareness of the park and nature reserve.

The group began in 2006 and now hold regular meetings, making a valuable contribution to the development of the park, bringing to the attention of the council various issues concerning the parks up-keep and development.

As well as highlighting issues to Leicester City Council, the group work with the parks staff in trying to secure extra funding for the park and organising activities and events on the park.

The Friends are always happy to hear from anyone interested in becoming a new member, either to show their support for the park or to get involved in organising activities, fundraising or with ideas for Watermead.

If you are interested in joining The Friends of Watermead, or would like to know more about the group, then please contact either Catherine Tregaskes on 0116 2220235, e-mail catherine.tregaskes@groundwork.org.uk  or Philip Brown on 0116 229 3663, email philip.brown@leicester.gov.uk
