Leicester officially twinned with Masaya in 1987 and since then, the Leicester Masaya Link Group has worked to develop and maintain an exchange of contacts between the two cities by co-ordinating projects aimed at enriching life in both cities.
The Leicester Masaya Link Group is a non-governmental organisation which manages the town-twinning link between Leicester and Masaya in Nicaragua.
