Newly Qualified Social Worker (NQSW) Programme for Children’s Social Workers

Leicester City Council is really pleased to be participating in the national pilot of the NQSW Programme which has been developed by the Children’s Workforce Development Council (CWDC). All newly qualified social workers working for Leicester City Council will be expected to join the Leicester programme.

The programme aims to provide a bridge from initial training to confident and competent practice that is based on a firm foundation of skills and knowledge and forms the basis for career-long professional development

You can download the leaflet below which sets out how Leicester City aims to support you through this important period of transition in your career from student to qualified social worker and to help you to meet the requirements of the NQSW programme.
