The CWDC is funding 2 schemes for managers of social worker in Leicester: Mentors for Managers, and Leadership, Management and Safeguarding.
The aim of these initiatives is to improve the support and management to social workers to ultimately improve social workers practice especially in the area of safeguarding children.
The second cohorts of these schemes are being run in the Autumn 2011.

Managers are allocated a mentor who has had management experience in children’s services. The mentoring will focus on areas of development required by the manager. - Application Information for Mentees
This programme has been developed by the East Midlands Partnership to provide training specifically for Children and Adult Managers who supervise social workers in safeguarding situations.
It is a 5-day taught programme with 3 study days to complete the written assignment and on successful completion, you will gain 30 academic credits which can be used towards a BA or MA degree.
