Induction - Adults

Induction is the first step onto the path of learning and development.  The induction programme has been devised to ensure that staff are provided with the basic knowledge requirements to undertake their role in a safe and effective manner.

There are two compulsory modules that should be attended by all staff who work for Leicester City Council:

  • Corporate Induction (Provided by City Learning)

  • Health & Safety Induction

Additional modules may be required depending on the job role.  All job roles, within the former Social Care and Health Department, have been mapped and modules identified.  A copy of the relevant mapping can be obtained from your Manager.  The additional modules are as follows:

Staff working in Adult services:

  • Load Manual Handling
  • Moving and Handling
  • Basic Food Hygiene  (where relevant)
  • Communicable Diseases Awareness
  • Understanding the Principles of Care
  • Communicating Effectively
  • The Principles of Good Record Keeping
