Dates: 9 November 2011 (for the Independant and

            Voluntary Sector ONLY)

 

Target Group: People who work with or care for people with learning disabilities. This event is suitable for people in the above role who work in the independent & voluntary sector. 

 

Learning outcomes:  (what you could expect to achieve)

To explore the ‘values’ of Person-Centred Planning

To reflect on our own beliefs and values and the way these affect our interactions.

To examine the Person-Centred Planning requirements of ‘Valuing People’ in the context of the ‘history’ of learning disability.

To understand the importance of effective communication and to improve participants ability “to establish and maintain effective communication and relationships”.

To understand the basic principles of Person-Centred Planning and how these differ from current planning methods.

To be introduced to various ways of helping someone with their Person Centred Plan.

To have an overview of some Person-Centred Planning tools/methods.
