Target group: Staff new to working with adults and older people. This event is suitable for people in the above role who work in the independent and voluntary sector.

Learning outcomes:  (what you could expect to achieve)

Have the underpinning induction knowledge for Standard 1 adults and LDQ.

Understand and know how to promote the values of social care including equal opportunities, respect, diversity and different cultures and values.

Understand the importance of confidentiality and the limits of confidentiality.

Know how to support the privacy and dignity of people and the importance of a persons history, preferences, wishes and needs and that everything is based around the individual.

Understand the need to enable individuals to control their own lives and make informed choices about the services they receive.

Understand the responsibilities and limits of relationships with individuals and the need to be reliable and dependable.

Understand that individuals have the right to take risks.
