Target group: This training is for staff in regular contact with parents/carers/children, and includes guidance on how to assess and reduce risk and harm. It also supports staff in how to contribute to, formal processes and procedures around child protection and safeguarding. This event is not suitable for people who work in the independent and voluntary sector.
Learning outcomes: (what you could expect to achieve)

For participants to understand the context of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people within a statutory framework.
To enable participants to acquire an increased knowledge in the recognition of child abuse.

To provide participants with knowledge of their individual roles and responsibilities and clear understanding of what is expected of them within their agency when they are concerned about a child or young person’s welfare.
Provide a forum for discussing best practice when working with children and young people.

Debate the implications of working with diversity and safeguarding issues.
