Target Group: Practitioners from Child Care field work teams and Duty and Assessment teams involved in child protection. This event is not suitable for people who work in independent and voluntary organisations.

Learning Outcomes (what you would expect to achieve)

• Use the tools and techniques of the Signs of Safety approach to Child Protection that draws on the theory underpinning the Brief Therapy and solution focused approaches.

• Involve children and young people in assessing risk and planning interventions.

• Make judgements based on a balance of information regarding danger and safety

• Involve other professionals in a systematic way.

• Develop rigorous safety plans for high risk cases.
