The Workforce Development Unit is now looking for applications for Social Work staff to undertake the Consolidation Module. The next programme will run in Spring 2012 - dates to be confirmed and this programme will be advertised later on in the year.
The closing date for applications to be received by the Workforce Development Unit is Monday 6th June 2011.
Specialist Modules
Target Group: Qualified Social Workers who have completed PQ1 or the Consolidation Module in child care. Social Workers who do not work for Leicester City Council can contact Nottingham Trent University to access this qualification.
The Full Specialist Award starts in October this year - and we are able to support 3 Social Workers to undertake the award. The award is run in conjunction with Leicestershire County Council and Nottingham Trent University. The award is an opportunity to progress your learning, gain academic credits, access the university resources and update your knowledge base.
The entry requirement for the programme is PQ1 or Consolidation Module.
As well as completing the award and gaining academic credits; on completion the workers will also gain a Practice Educators award, which will enable them to be involved in assessment of social work students. (If you already hold an equivalent award you will not undertake this module).
