Thank you very much for taking part in Leicester City Council’s survey of people who care for others, which we conducted between November 2009 and February 2010.
The survey helped us to find out what you think of our services.
The information we gained showed us what we are doing well and where we need to make improvements.
This his a summary of your views about the services received by you or the person that you care for.
Questionnaires were sent out to 908 carers 456 (50%) were completed and returned.

65% reported that they found it easy to get the support or services they need as carer.
-
34% stated that they had received a break from caring lasting up to 24 hours;
-
94% stated that care workers and personal assistants treated them with dignity and respect.
-
26% stated they had received a break of more than 24 hours.
-
38.5% of respondents reported that their health in general was good or very good; a further 49% stated that their health was fair.
What we have done
-
We have contacted several carers who expressed concerns, have discussed their position and aimed to improve things for them and the person they care for.
-
We have held a prize draw of those people who responded. Mr A from Clarendon Park and Mr J from Northfields have claimed their £20 prize vouchers.
