When returning your fully completed application, you will also need to provide:

Passport sized photos (signed on reverse) - this can be either attached to your form or emailed to bluebadge@leicester.gov.uk in a a jpg or gif file (under 200KB). Digital photos can be taken at all of our centres

If you qualify under the automatic criteria, we can complete your application while you wait in our Contact Centre.
In order to have your application processed on the day at one of the above centres you need to attend the centre with £10 fee, and evidence of automatic eligibility dated within 12 months.
You can either bring a passport photo with you or have a photo taken at the centre.

When applying under the DISCRETIONARY criteria, you will need to complete application in full providing any documentary evidence so we can assess your eligibility for a badge.
Please allow four weeks for processing your application, which is only possible if all correct supporting information, photos and monies are provided.
Applications requiring additional information or a reassessment can not be processed during this time frame.
If you do not fully complete all sections and provide the evidence your application will be destroyed.

The Blue Badge scheme also accommodates organisations that provide travel/care for disabled persons.
Organisational Blue Badges are issued to organisations that are required to transport disabled persons as a part of, or to gain access to, their service.
A £10 fee is required and a company letterhead/logo.
In order to gather further information, the Blue Badge section may deem it necessary to visit before assessing an application.
It is the responsibility of an organisation to ensure that Blue Badges issued are used correctly and in accordance with the law.

A straightforward application takes approximately four weeks. A more complex application involving requests for additional information can take longer.
Those organisations that currently hold a Blue Badge are advised to apply to renew their Badge at least six weeks prior to the expiry date of the existing badge.
