Misuse of a Blue Badge

Misuse of a Blue Badge
Misuse of a Blue Badge

Misuse of a Blue Badge is a serious offence.  A badge can be withdrawn if it is misused or allowed to be misused by others.

It is a criminal offence for non-disabled people to use a badge.  If they do so, they are liable to a fine of up to £1,000.

To use the Bade the trip must be for your benefit only and you must be using the vehicle. You must never give your badge to friends of family to allow them to park free without you, even if they are visiting you.

How to report misuse of Blue Badges

Leicester City Council takes all allegations, of abuse/misuse of Blue Badges, seriously.

If you wish to report an incident of misuse you should get as many details as possible from the badge on display (serial number, issuing authority expiry date etc).

Then complete our online misuse form or print/download our misuse form  (your details will be held in strict confidence).

Leicester City Council is working closely in partnership with Leicestershire Police Constabulary and On-street Parking Enforcement Teams and neighbouring authorities to tackle the misuse of Badges within the city.
