“An outstanding fostering service” OFSTED 2008
Leicester is officially one of the best fostering services in the country.
That means we have great carers who get the best rewards and support we can provide.
Can you join our great team and help local children who need a family?
Fostering means looking after children who cannot stay in their own homes.
It is more than just offering board and lodging: it is about making children feel loved and wanted and helping them to enjoy their childhood and do well at school.
Children need foster families for lots of reasons. Parents might ask for help looking after their family because they are ill or facing some other temporary difficulty.
At other times child protection agencies suspect that children are being neglected or abused and remove them from their families for their own safety. Some children are disabled and need either full-time care or short breaks with a carer.
Foster carers can choose which age of child they wish to foster and which type of fostering suits them best. Some people are happy with just one child whilst others feel they have time and space for 2, 3 or more.
Foster care is not about breaking families up. Most of the time, foster carers actually help families to stay together.
