Overall Aim
Adult Placement offers people an alternative and highly flexible form of accommodation and/or care or support inside or outside the home, which is provided by ordinary individuals or families in the local community.
This alternative – which enables the person to share in the life and activities of the Adult Placement Carer. Adult placement enables a wide range of vulnerable people who need support to live independent lives, promotes their health and well-being, and reduces the need for hospitalisation or admission to care.
Objectives
-
The scheme aims to offer a service to carers of service users in the community to enable them to continue caring. Continued contact of service users with their relatives and friends is welcomed and encouraged by the adult placement carer and scheme, whether they are staying during the daytime, for a short break, or long term with an adult placement carer.
Philosophy of Care
The philosophy of the service is based on the Governments White Paper ‘Valuing People’ and we are committed to providing each service user with the appropriate support to enable them to exercise their rights as a human being, to be as independent as possible, and to have choice and control in their life and we will continue to work towards achieving social inclusion for all.
