For Permanent Residential or Nursing Home Care
Following the assessment of your care needs and moving to a care home is the most appropriate course of action for you, your social worker will arrange to complete an application for financial assistance with you or your representative.
Once the application form has been completed, the social worker will send it to a Finance Officer who will calculate the contribution you will be asked to make towards the cost of your care.
The social worker will explain the contributions to you and assist you in claiming any benefits from the Department for Work and Pensions you are entitled to which you presently do not receive. You can then begin to discuss which care home to choose.
