Extra Care

What is Extra Care housing?

Extra Care housing is designed with the needs of older and frailer individuals and couples in mind.  Extra Care accommodation is purpose built, enabling people to maintain their independence whilst knowing that care and support is available within the development.  It is a real alternative to residential care.

Everyone at an Extra Care estate has their own front door, to their own, self-contained apartment.

What's available?

Each Extra Care estate has its own estate manager and an on-site care team, who can provide support and assistance with personal needs, such as washing and dressing and meals and personal hygiene.

A range of communal facilities, which may include restaurant, IT suite, laundry, scooter store and health suite,  are also provided at Extra Care estates.
