Residential and Nursing Homes

If living at home is becoming increasingly difficult, you may want to talk to us with your family, relatives or some other person about moving into a residential or nursing home.

We will be able to advise you on the best alternative and provide information about the choice of homes within the city. This includes homes run by Leicester City Council and by private and voluntary organisations.

We can also help people to find out about other accommodation, such as sheltered housing.

We may be able to help with the cost of care, depending on the financial circumstances of the people concerned.

General enquiries about the Homes should be made to:

Name:         Leicester City Council Adult Social Care services
Address:     1 Grey Friars, Leicester, LE1 5PH

Telephone: 0116 252 7004
Minicom:     0116 252 7011
Email:          customer.services@leicester.gov.uk

All residential homes, whether council-run or private, are regularly inspected by the National Care Standards Commission:

The council is currently reviewing its residential care provision at six Elderly Person’s Homes (EPH’s).
