key priorities have been identified to support the achievement of the children and young people's plan 2011/14. These are:
partnership development
to ensure all stakeholders and partners are identified and involved in the development and implementation of the strategy, are signed up to the vision and committed to provide resources.
workforce information, planning and developing our systems
to develop capacity and capability in order to have robust workforce information and systems across children's services that are used to inform organisational and locality level decision making and planning.
developing the future children's workforce
to develop innovative approaches to future workforce planning and development. The emphasis will be on competencies and less on organisational and professional boundaries.
recruitment and retention
to enable children's services and partners to attract and retain a workforce that reflects the population it serves.
learning, training and development
to determine the requirements of the children's workforce, support commissioners and providers in delivering fit-for-purpose learning, training and development.
evaluation and review
to develop evidence based approaches to workforce planning and development.
