The Children Act 2004 introduced the requirement for each Local Authority to work with relevant partner agency to publish a single strategic plan covering services to children, young people and their families, to show how they will contribute to improving the Every Child Matters outcomes for children and young people in their area. In Leicester, the Local Authority and partners worked together very closely and consulted with children, young people and their parents to agree the priorities for the city. A set of objectives, strategic actions and targets were also agreed to deliver the priorities.
