Work on the highway
The Highway Authority’s permission is required under the Highways Act 1980 and the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 for all works on or in the highway.
If you are planning to undertake a development, building works or any other related activity adjacent to the highway that may affect the highway and its users, please read the attached guidance notes, complete and return the highway approval form (form 1).
This will enable us to work with you to ensure that your works can progress without unnecessary delay and any disruption to highway users can be controlled and minimised.
Failure to complete this application form and provide adequate notice will result in delays to the development works.
