Leicester City Council operates a tow away parking enforcement scheme in order to resolve the persistent non-payment of Penalty Charge Notices. Motorists should therefore be aware that if they park illegally in Leicester their vehicle may be removed and taken to the council's secure car pound.
What do I do if I think my vehicle has been towed away?
Contact Leicestershire Constabulary on 0116 222 2222. They will tell you if your vehicle has been placed in the pound and subsequently inform you of the procedure to reclaim it. Alternatively, they may suspect that your vehicle has been stolen and assist you as appropriate.
How much does it cost to get my vehicle back?
The release fee for vehicles is £105. A storage charge of £12 per day (or part day) is also payable.
Is there a clamping scheme operated by the council?
Leicester City Council does not operate a clamping scheme.
Do you think your vehicle should not have been towed away?
