Leicester’s annual Local Transport Day, now in its fourteenth year, has played a vital role in moving the local transport agenda forward by providing the opportunity for transport professionals and stakeholders to come together to discuss key issues. However, in view of the publication - following considerable consultation - of the new Local Transport Plan, the event will not take place this year. The costs and benefits of the Local Transport Day for the future are being evaluated in the light of current and ongoing budgetary constraints.
The latest event was held at Leicester Tigers Rugby Ground on the 10th of November 2010 and provided those involved with the opportunity to discuss strategy for the new Local Transport Plan (2011-2026) and to look forward to challenges and opportunities during the remainder of the current (2006-2011) Local Transport Plan period.
