Inviting the Lord Mayor to an event

You are welcome to invite the Lord Mayor to an event, and every endeavour will be made for them to join you.

Further information

There is a standard form to complete, which includes information such as the nature of the event, parking arrangements, dress requirements and specific arrival time.

You can use the online formĀ linked above, or ask to have a form posted to you, and we will reply as soon as possible after receiving your form.

At your event

When the Lord Mayor arrives at your event, someone should be available to greet him/her and host them throughout the visit. The Lord Mayor will usually wear the chain of office, although at certain key events, the ceremonial robes may be worn and he/she will always be accompanied by a civic attendant.

If you would like the Lord Mayor to speak at your event, background information should be provided to usĀ in advance to allow the Lord Mayor to prepare for your event.

If you are meeting the Lord Mayor at the Town Hall, you should report to reception and someone will assist you.

You can get in touch with us for more information on the formalities of contacting the Lord Mayor.
