Looking after yourself if you're a carer

Being a carer can be very demanding physically, mentally and emotionally which can affect your own health and wellbeing.

Your GP

Your GP could help. Ask your surgery about registering as a carer. It may be able to offer flexible appointments, health checks, and flu vaccinations.

You can register as a carer by filling out the form below. You can either post or email the form to your GP practice. If you are unable to complete the form for any reason, please contact the Leicester Carer Support Service which will be able to help you do this.

Taking a break

It is important to keep well and find time for yourself. Having a break can help carers to take time out of their caring role and do something for themselves.
