Changes to bin collections this Easter

Published on 31 March 2015

BIN collections for some city residents will change this week due to the Easter holidays.

People who normally get their bins and orange bags collected on a Friday will not have a collection on Good Friday (3rd April). Instead, their next collection will be on Friday 10th April.

There are no changes to collections today (Tues), tomorrow (Weds) or Thursday.

People who have signed up to the council’s new garden waste service should note that the service continues as normal, even on bank holidays.

The Household Waste Recycling Centres at Bridge Road (off Spence Street) and Freemen's Common (on Islington Street) will be open as usual over the Easter holidays.
Plastic packaging and cardboard boxes from Easter eggs can be recycled in orange bags, along with lots of other items including food tins and drink cans, empty aerosols, newspapers and wrapping paper.
