A FAMILY fete in support of a resort which provides free holidays for disadvantaged children will take place at Leicester Market this week.
Market Square will be transformed into the venue for a mini fete on Friday, July 29, in aid of the Leicester Children’s Holiday Centre Mablethorpe, which is this year’s Lord Mayor’s Appeal.
Events take place from 12noon to 2pm and include an array of family-friendly activities designed to bring a country fete feel to the heart of Leicester city centre.
A face-painter will be on hand for children, along with a balloon modeler and giant bubble blower.
There will also be a traditional tombola, offering a variety of prizes donated by Leicester Market and other businesses across the city.
Prizes include Market Money – which people can spend at Leicester Market Food Hall – a Leicester Monopoly set, the Leicestershire and Rutland cookbook and much more.
Shoppers will also be to sample free food from Leicester Market.
The Leicester Children’s Holiday Centre Mablethorpe has provided free seaside holidays for over 55,000 children from Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland for over a century.
