Week-long road closure for resurfacing works
Published on 11 August 2017
A MAJOR road is due to be closed to traffic for a week as part of the final phase of extensive improvement works.
Keyham Lane West, between Keyham Lodge School and Hamilton Community College, will be closed from Monday, August 14, reopening on the morning of Saturday, August 19.
The closure is the last stage of a 13-week programme which has included road widening, drainage works, new lines/signs and the installation of a new footpath.
The final phase will involve resurfacing the whole stretch of road, meaning it has to be closed to traffic while the work is being carried out.
Letters have been sent out to residents in the area, advising them of the closure and the diversions in place.
Traffic will be diverted along Hamilton Lane, New Romney Crescent, Netherhall Road and Hungarton Boulevard.
Buses will operate anti-clockwise around Netherhall Road, New Romney Crescent, Keyham Lane West and Ivychurch Road.
The work is being carried out by developer Redrow as part of its planning obligations.
