Sunday park and ride services start this weekend
Published on 29 November 2017
LEICESTER’S Park and Ride services will be running on every Sunday in December, making it easier for people to enjoy everything the city centre has to offer this Christmas.
The additional services start this weekend (Sunday 3 December), when people will be able to leave their cars at Meynell’s Gorse, Enderby or Birstall and travel into the city centre and back for just £4.
This Sunday (3 December), visitors to the city centre will be able to enjoy a Christmas Craft Fair at the Guildhall (11am-4pm), as well as the Christmas Market on the new market square (11am-5pm), funfair rides on Humberstone Gate, the nativity scene in Town Hall Square, and the Wheel of Light in Jubilee Square.
City centre shops will be open from 11am – 5pm for those keen to crack on with their Christmas shopping.
The extra services will be running on all five Sundays in December – including Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve – as well as on Boxing Day. Buses will run every 15 minutes from 10am until 5.30pm from the sites at Meynell’s Gorse, Enderby and Birstall.
The additional services mean that Leicester Park and Ride will be operating every day in December except Christmas Day.
Return fares to the city centre cost just £4 per car (up to five people).
More details of the additional services, festive timetables and fares are available from the Leicester Park and Ride website at www.choosehowyoumove.co.uk
