Steam toys in spotlight at museum

Published on 29 January 2018

STEAM toys of all shapes and sizes will be taking centre stage at a popular annual event at Leicester’s Abbey Pumping Station.

The Steam Toys in Action day – now in its 28th year – is one of the largest gatherings of steam-powered toys, and will include a dazzling array of miniature steam engines, boats and trains.

Visitors will also be able to view the museum’s beam engines in steam and enjoy rides on the vintage steam train. Refreshments will be available.

The event takes place on Sunday 4 February, from 1pm to 5pm. Admission is £3 for adults and free for accompanied children, although there is a small charge for train rides.
