Further information

Early learning places

All 3 and 4 year olds are now entitled to a funded part-time early education place of up to 15 hours per week during term time. You can search the Family Information Directory to find nurseries and childcare providers in your area.

Free early learning for two year olds

From September 2013, some two year olds from low income families will be entitled to a free part-time early education place under a new national scheme. These places can be taken up at, pre-school, childminder or a selected number of nurseries.

Who is eligible?

The government is funding the places for two year olds from low-income families who receive benefits. In order to be eligible, families must be resident in Leicester and must also meet certain earnings and benefits criteria.

See if you're eligible for free early education on the Family Information Directory
