Applying for a school place
Please note all applications made after midnight on Wednesday 31 October 2018 for starting secondary school in autumn 2019 will be treated as a late application.
If you wish to apply for a school place starting now then please complete an in-year admission application.

Voluntary aided schools, academies and free schools
If you are applying for a voluntary aided school, academy or a free school, you must complete the schools' own supplementary information form as well as applying to Leicester City Council. You must return the supplementary form directly to the school by the closing date of Wednesday 31 October 2018.

Starting secondary school transfer timetable - autumn 2019
The deadline for applying for a school place to start school in autumn 2019 was Wednesday 31 October 2018. Please note any applications made after this date will be treated as a late application.

All applications received after this date are treated as late and will be dealt with after those received on time and you are less likely to be offered a place at your preferred schools.
What happens next?
For on-time applications you will be sent an email (or a letter) informing you which school has been allocated on Friday 1 March 2019.
Avanti Fields School (Hindu faith), a new free school will open in September 2018 for Year 7 pupils.
Over the next few years, the school will grow to admit all year groups from reception to year 11. From 2018-2020 the school will be in temporary accommodation in the Former Bede Island Campus, Narborough Road, Leicester, LE3 0BT before moving to their permanent site of Manor Farm, Hamilton. Castle Mead Academy
Castle Mead Academy is a new free school opening in September 2019 for 240 Year 7 pupils.
Admissions will be from across the whole city and will grow each year to a full capacity of 1200. The school will be situated by the riverside in the heart of historic Leicester, close to the Friars Mill regeneration area and the Highcross Shopping Centre, with excellent transport links. The high quality temporary accommodation will be adjacent to the permanent school building, allowing it to grow into its local surroundings. The founding group of year 7 students will be able to shape the design of their new building and see it being built each day as they go about their lessons.

The Lancaster Academy
In September 2018 The Lancaster Academy became a fully co-educational school, accepting applications for girls to join in all year groups.
