Disabled parking at home
If you are a blue badge holder, you can request a disabled parking space outside your home.
The disabled parking space space is advisory only, and no enforcement action can be taken against drivers who park in your space.
The advisory road markings rely on the goodwill of other drivers to operate, but in many locations in Leicester, they have proved reasonably successful.
The requirements you must meet to request a disabled parking space are as follows:
- You must be a blue badge holder
- There must be a suitable location which does not infringe upon waiting restriction road markings
- Your property should not have off-street parking
- You must regularly use a vehicle registered at the address where you are requesting the parking space.
Requesting a disabled parking space
To request a disabled parking space, please use the contact details at the bottom of this page to get in touch.
If you receive attendance or disability living allowance, and can provide evidence that you are in receipt of the higher rate of the mobility component, your request will be processed more quickly.
Cost of markings
It costs £85 for a new marking, and £45 for re-marking an existing marking that has faded.
