EU Settlement Scheme
The EU Settlement Scheme, launched on 30 March 2019 allows EU citizens to continue to live, work and study in the UK without any immigration time restrictions after the UK leaves the European Union.
How we can help
We are offering identity verification for applicants who cannot apply using the Home Office app using an Android device, which doesn’t have Near Field Communication (NFC). The app is currently not available on Apple devices.
If your mobile or other device doesn’t have near field communication and you're eligible to apply for settled status, you can bring your ID document to us, where it can be scanned and verified for you. It is also available to those who are eligible and simply want to use a secure service.
The purpose of the scan is to confirm your identity, so that you'll be able to make an application for settled status. You must not start your application before you attend your appointment.
We cannot help you beyond verifying your identity. If you need help with the Home Office app, please contact the Home Office help desk on 03333 445 675.

We are providing walk-in sessions on the following dates and times for identity verification:

We will do our best to see you on the day but during busy periods this may not be the case. If we are unable to see you, you will need to come back to the next available session. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
What do I need to bring with me?
- your current valid EU passport or valid biometric residence card
- a mobile phone that can receive text messages or a device that can receive email.
Please note, this service does not currently accept national identity cards. Only the identity documents listed above can be checked. We will not need to keep your identity document and in most cases, you will not be asked to send it anywhere else during your application.
How much will it cost?
The cost of the identity document scanning service is £14 (including VAT). In some cases, the Home Office may ask you to attend a further appointment, or send in your identity document for a decision to be made on your application.
