Using our libraries

All facilities are certificated covid-secure and will be operating with social distancing measures in place including protective screens, one way systems and social distancing.

The libraries have resumed normal opening hours.

Fosse Centre Library remains closed whilst it continues to serve as a Lateral Flow Test Centre.

  • Hand sanitiser is provided at the entrance to all city libraries.
  • You can register your details when entering libraries, by scanning the QR code with the NHS app

The virus hasn’t gone away. We encourage you to do your bit to prevent the spread of coronavirus by wearing a face covering.

You can book a computer up to a week in advance, in the library, over the phone or by booking online at: 'Book a public computer'.

We also offer a WiFi service that is free and easy to use and is available in all our libraries, most personal devices are supported.

The Children’s BookBus Service has resumed with a reduced number of street stops.

We regret we are currently unable to provide services including newspapers and magazines, activities and social groups.

Toilets will also be unavailable.
