Libraries and community centres - Jubilee bank holidays

All our libraries and community centres will be closed on 2 and 3 June. They will be open as normal on the weekend.

Using our libraries

All facilities are certificated covid-secure and will be operating with social distancing measures in place including protective screens, one way systems and social distancing.

The libraries have resumed normal opening hours.

  • Hand sanitiser is provided at the entrance to all city libraries.

Customers are strongly recommended to wear a face covering. We encourage you to do your bit to prevent the spread of coronavirus by wearing a face covering.

When visiting our buildings, we strongly encourage customers to be able to provide a NHS COVID Pass, or a negative PCR test or rapid lateral flow test within 72 hours of your visit.

You can book a computer up to a week in advance, in the library, over the phone or by booking online at: 'Book a public computer'.

We also offer a WiFi service that is free and easy to use and is available in all our libraries, most personal devices are supported.

The Children’s BookBus Service has resumed with a reduced number of street stops.
