Reopening our libraries
We can’t wait to welcome you back to some our libraries. Our local teams are looking forward to seeing you again! All facilities are certificated covid-secure and will be operating with social distancing measures in place including protective screens, one way systems and social distancing.

The libraries will reopen on reduced hours initially. Most libraries will also be open for one or two evenings per week and on Saturdays 10am – 1pm.

Fosse Centre and Hamilton Libraries remain closed whilst they continue to serve as Lateral Flow Test Centres.
Eyres Monsell will remain closed until further notice.
- Hand sanitiser is provided at the entrance to all city libraries.
- You will be required to register your details when entering libraries, by scanning the QR code with the NHS app
- Reduced capacity is in place to ensure social distancing at all times.
The virus hasn’t gone away. We encourage you to do your bit to prevent the spread of coronavirus by wearing a face covering.
Most computers are available for 45 minutes with some allowing 1hr 45 minutes. Please book your session online or through your local library.
Computers will be cleaned in between sessions.
Single study tables are available at selected sites where space allows. Please call your local library to check. Advance booking is required.
The Children’s BookBus Service has resumed with a reduced number of street stops.

We regret we are currently unable to provide services including newspapers and magazines, activities and social groups due to current guidance.
Toilets will also be unavailable.
