CrowdFund Leicester is my crowdfunding initiative to connect people, communities and businesses to turn their ideas in to reality. It puts you in control of creating campaigns and supporting those ideas you want to see happen.
Leicester is a city built on its communities. This initiative allows people to come together from different communities to improve their surroundings by supporting the ideas they like to help make Leicester a great place.
I am looking to support ideas by providing land to help deliver projects and could also pledge up to £10,000 from the Community Engagement Fund to make your idea a reality. Businesses and local groups, such as Highcross and St Matthews Big Local, may also support your idea alongside the rest of the crowd.
Over £140,000 has already been crowd funded to four very different campaigns. These include Phoenix Access Cinema, which provided headsets to help people with sight and hearing loss enjoy the cinema experience; The Urban Equestrian Academy, who purchased a new minibus to transport inner-city children to stables around Leicestershire; the first phase of the Little Theatre Centenary Project which will see the 1920s building extended and modernised; and the Save Goddard Bank campaign for essential repairs to the grade II-listed bank building in Granby Street.
