Postal voters - Royal Mail strike action

Electors who are voting by post at this by-election are being urged to return their completed postal ballot paper packs as soon as possible, due to a planned strike action on Thursday 13 October by Royal Mail. This will result in no collection, sorting or delivery of post on that date, by Royal Mail.

Postal voters are asked to not put their completed postal votes in a Royal Mail post box after the last collection time stated on the post box, on Tuesday 11 October, as their vote will not be received in time to be counted. Alternatively completed postal ballot paper packs can be delivered by hand to any polling station (details of the locations is shown in Notice of Poll below) on election day or alternatively at the Council Offices at City Hall, 115 Charles Street, Leicester, LE1 1FZ.

  • Polling Stations open from 7am–10pm on Thursday 13 October
  • Deadline for receipt of completed postal votes: Thursday 13 October, 10pm
