Leicester Adults Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA). Health and social care needs associated with smoking and tobacco use.

Smoking is the leading cause of preventable illness and premature death in England causing harm in many parts of the body and accounting for 1 in 6 of all deaths in England. There are many medical conditions associated with or aggravated by smoking, which may not be fatal but still cause years of debilitating illness.

The following chapter details the level of need in the population, current services in place, project service use, any service gaps and recommendations for commissioners.
