Parentage and ancestry unknown. He was admitted free of the borough 1579,80, elected a chamberlain 1589, later an alderman, and chosen a coroner in 1603; resided and carried on business in the Swines Market, married at St. Martin's 6 August 1582 Ellen Willcocke and by her had issue, several sons and daughters.

AId. Bonnett died soon after completing his year of office and was buried on the north side of St. Martin's churchyard 15 February 1615~6. Will, dated 12 February 1615~6, was proved in the P.C.C., London, 22 April following.
