1617   ROWLAND PUSEY, (Brewer).

Probably descended from the Puseys of Pusey,

Berks. He settled in Leic. and was admitted a free burgess as "Rowland Pewsey, gent., a stranger and a common brewer," in 1608,9 ; married at St. Martin's 16 August 1608 Anne, daughter of Wm. Stanley of Leic., by whom, who died in 1630, he had issue a son John.

AId. Pusey was buried at St. Martin's 21 February 1620,1. His undated will was proved in the P.C.C., London, 12 June 1621, his brother, Timothy Pusey of Selston, Notts., being one of the overseers.

The Pusey quartering is given on the Dbde communion cup at Market Bosworth :-Gules three bars argent. The family crest appears to have been a pussy cat passant guardant ermine. Plate 2.
