1618   NICHOLAS GILLOT, (Ironmonger).

Eldest son of Francis Gillot of Leic. He was baptized

at St. Martin's 30 December 1567, admitted a freeman of the borough as the late apprentice of Mr. Heyrick

 

in 1593,4, elected a member of the council 1599, a chamberlain 1604 and a coroner in 1613. He was churchwarden of St. Martin's 1599 to 1601 and again mayor in 1632. During his term of office the heir of Sir Thomas White came to Leic. and was entertained by the corporation.

Aid. Nicholas Gillot, who appears to have died un, married, was buried at St. Martin's 21 October 1634. His will, dated 15 October 1634, was proved at Leic. 27 October the same year.
