1631   JOHN NORRICE, (Tanner).

Eldest son of Matthew Norris or Norrice of Leic., tanner

and bellfounder; was born 1577 and baptized at All Saints' 8 June of that year, enrolled a free burgess 1604,5 as the late apprentice of (his uncle) AId. William Norrice, elected one of the chamberlains in 1618 and a coroner in 1627. By order of the alderman 23 October 1637, he was dismissed from the corporation for irregular attendance, having by that time taken up his residence in Ireland. In some records he is described as a brewer.
